frequently asked questions

My pet is terminally ill – can we do our session right away?

I do my very best to accommodate these circumstances, and can usually arrange our pet portrait session within a day or so of your first contact. Be sure to include your phone number when you send your email.

How much do you charge?

My pricing information is on the details page.  More detailed information about product and print pricing, and about the process generally, is provided to clients after they book their pet portrait session.

Do you charge more for your artistic style?

I love to create digitally altered images – it’s my favourite thing to do!  No extra charge.

Why is it “so expensive”?

You’ll spend up to two hours with me for your pet portrait session – the taking the pictures part – but behind the scenes there are 10-20 more hours completely dedicated to you, your pet, and the presentation of your session images. It’s very important to me that you are happy with the end result, and to achieve that goal there are lots of time-consuming things to do. My aim is to present you with unique works of art, not snapshots or generic photos. I’ve developed my style and vision over thirty years behind the lens, and consider myself an artist working in the medium of photography. I use only the highest quality materials and printers. My passion for this work and my attention to detail are reflected in the end result for you, and in the precious images of your beloved pets that you will cherish forever.

Victoria BC pet photographer
Can you come to the mid or north island and photograph my pets?

Sure!  There will be an extra charge to offset my travel costs.

Can you come to the mainland and photograph my pets?

At this time I’m doing pet portrait sessions on Vancouver Island only. There are lots of fantastic pet photographers working in the lower mainland, and I’d be happy to refer you to one that will best meet your needs.

Do you do weddings and family portraits?

As a pet specialist, I photograph pets exclusively (and pets with their people).  I will refer you to my favourite human photographer if your people outnumber your pets.
