I’m pleased to welcome the first Unleashed! guest author for today’s international pet photographer blog circle post. Enjoy!
Hi! I’m Maddie. You might have seen me around {like on one of the Beautiful Beasties blog posts that Melissa guest authored over there featuring me!} and if you have been following along on this blog you’ll know I had surgery on Christmas Eve. I’ve been all mysterious about my condition but I’ll tell you guys: I have cancer. I’m getting the BEST care so don’t be feeling sorry for me about that. Really, I’m doing great! But break out your violins for this: because of the surgery I have been forced – totally against my will – to do a lot of resting and healing. Running around, wrestling and going to doggie daycare have been off limits for a month and I’ve been going up the wall! There’s only so many times a girl can practice her tricks and recall in the house and walk around on-leash. Boring!
I was totally thrilled to finally be having a Really Big Adventure in the woods with my human last weekend… but look what crazy ideas she had! She wanted to work on “pictures for the Black and White theme” and get all artsy fartsy. Whatever!
I put a quick stop to that when I found my dream stick. I mean The Best Stick Ever! I’m drooling just thinking about it. It came pre-covered in sloppy, stinky mud and was soooo tasty! First I happy danced with it….
Then I parked on the cold, muddy ground for a chew. Is there anything better than a good chew on a tasty stick right where you are? Not really! It was heavenly. I think the human equivalent would be lounging on a tropical beach watching a spectacular sunset while sipping an exotic cocktail with a relaxing ocean breeze tickling at your skin. It was that awesome.
I was fully prepared to lay there chewing and chewing until it was all gone but my human said I could take it home. Can you believe it? She has never let me do that before! I did have to carry it the whole way home myself but it was worth it. Lots more chew for later.
Turned out to be a good day after all and I can’t wait until I get the all-clear to have Even Bigger Adventures!
Thanks for reading my first guest blog post! Now I’m supposed to tell you to visit Tennessee Pet Photography, Sweet Silver Photography for more black and white pet adventures.
[…] stuff. Me and the cat have some arthritis, the other cat has kidney issues, and you know about my little cancer problem. This last week was a busy one in the health department. First little Buddy was diagnosed with […]
Sending healing thoughts your way Maddie! May you have many, many years full of big sticks ahead of you!
Thank you all for your kind comments and support for Miss Maddie!
Wow, Maddie, you are one tough Girl! Your so brave being sick and having your surgery. You look great today, your Human has taken some wonderful images of you and yep, that stick does look pretty good (that is the opinion of my Kelpie Girls)
Hugs and Kelpie kisses to you Maddie for a speedy recovery and many more adventures.
Way to go Maddie! kick cancer’s butt and enjoy every muddy stick. Wishing you the best always.
I’m so sorry to hear that Maddie has been sick. She is so beautiful and the photos are amazing. Love the different perspectives.
Oh, Maddie, that’s a class stick!
Your human takes pretty good photos. 🙂
Maddie – Wishing you feel better soon. Looks like you had a spectacular day outdoors.
So cute! I hope you are better soon Maddie!!!! Much love and positive thoughts your way.
Wonderful photos. I hope she’s going to be ok. I found out my Oscar had cancer in December and had to have surgery as well so I understand about them not wanting to slow down. LOL You want them to rest but at the same time you’re just so excited that they want to play and everything.
Oh what a sweetheart. I’m so sorry to hear that she has cancer, but glad it’s being treated. Sounds like she has a ton of character <3
