I’ve had to take a break from the Beautiful Beasties Network international blog circle, but I’m back this week for the Vintage theme!
This is Terry… or was Terry! He might have a new name now that he has a new family! This image of him reminds me of some of the old photos of pittie breeds, back when they were known as the Nanny Dog, well before their image was tainted by sensationalist media coverage depicting them as dangerous. Here’s a great article, not too long, about the history of the breed by the good folks at Bad Rap. Be sure to also check out their gallery of actual vintage photographs.
It’s a blog circle so be sure to visit For the Love Pet Photography in Portland, Oregon and keep following the links until you end up back where you started.
This is so regal. I loved the old photos you linked to. Sure does make you wonder why they have such a bad rap.
Terry is HANDSOME!
I agree, this image is so positive for the breed : so many up for adoption, this would make a nice advert to spread the word.
As usual,GORGEOUS photo! Love that sepia colouring (if that is what it’s called) with this handsome dog!
Great job and great informational links!
This is such a great poster photo for adoption. Great job.
Love that photo and love that you linked to some great websites about pitties. Such a cute and great breed.
